A BIT ABOUT US
The Trinity Missionary Baptist Church was organized on Friday, November 24, 1950, by the late Rev. I. C. Green, Sr. The participating ministers in the organization included Rev. S.E. Steward, Moderator of the Guadalupe District Baptist Association, Rev C.C. Brown, President of the Baptist Ministers Union Rev G.C. Coleman, Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church; Rev. V.M. Bailey, Pastor of New Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, and Rev. E.J. Wilson, Pastor of St, John Baptist Church. Following the organizing meeting, Rev. S.E. Steward, Moderator conducted an organizational service in a rented hall located at 220 Connoly Street.
Reverend I.C. Green Sr. was the first pastor of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and served from 1950 until 1952, before accepting another ministry to serve the Lord in Houston, Texas.
Reverend J. Whitlow Washington on August 22, 1952, accepted the call and became the second pastor of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Under his effective leadership, the church secured a small army barrack and placed it at 3062 Nebraska Street (later renamed Martin Luther King Drive.) In May 1956, Rev. Washington resigned to accept another ministry in Waxahachie, Texas.
In July 1956, Rev. I. C. Green, Jr. became the third Pastor of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church and served until his resignation in October 1957.
The first Sunday in April 1958, Trinity Missionary Baptist Church began a long and successful leadership with the fourth pastor, the Rev. Dr. John A. Hall served as shepherd for over fifty years before formally resigning his lengthy pastorship on September 30, 2008 to serve as Pastor Emeritus. The Lord called his faithful servant home on April 18, 2009.
Rev. Julius L Sheppard, Sr. began serving as interim Pastor in June 2008 and on the first Sunday in October 2008, the mantle was passed to him as the fifth Pastor of the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church.
